Product FAQs

1. Are you the sole producer of MyClyns?

We are the sole producer of MyClyns; however we are not the sole provider of MyClyns. You can purchase MyClyns through one of our retail partners in the United States. Click here to find a retailer near you.

2. How many uses are in one unit?

There is an average of 60 sprays per unit. The MyClyns may be kept and used multiple times if needed. Once the product has been sprayed, there will be 90 days remaining on the shelf life.

MyClyns works when it comes into contact with a pathogen. Therefore you would want to saturate the entire affected area for maximum effectiveness.

In the event of a gross exposure situation, remove excess organic material and spray the entire contents. In this situation, the product should be disposed for a couple reasons:

1. If you have been exposed and use MyClyns, it likely has become contaminated, and you would not want to put it back in your pocket.

2. If you’ve been exposed and you have someone else’s body fluids on you, you are going to want to use the entire contents to maximize the opportunity for the solution to be exposed to the pathogen.

3. Can the unit be left in the glove compartment or trunk of a car?

It is our recommendation that, due to concerns with temperature extremes (cold and hot), that the unit should come and go with you or stored safely in a home or office, but ideally MyClyns should be carried on your person for quick access.

4. How long after you’ve been exposed are you infected? / When is it “too late” to use the MyClyns after an exposure?

There is no set time at which an exposed person becomes infected. There are many factors that affect infection including the exposed person’s immune system, virility of the pathogen, the amount of the pathogen you’re exposed to, and for how long. MyClyns is designed to be carried on the person so that you can use it immediately at the scene of the exposure. We recommend that you use the MyClyns as quickly after being exposed as possible. It is really never “too late” to use it, however, you want to use it as quickly as you can.

In laboratory tests, the solution in MyClyns has germ killing action and has been shown to reduce pathogens by over 99% in as little as thirty seconds. And, MyClyns can be deployed and used on the most vulnerable parts of the body within seconds of an exposure. This ability to use MyClyns immediately provides you, for the first time, with a product that you can use right away in situations when time may be critical.

5. Can you use MyClyns if you wear contact lenses?

The CDC recommends that if you have an exposure to the eyes and you wear contacts, that you take them out and dispose of them because they have been contaminated. Also, material can get stuck behind the lenses if you keep them in your eyes. We recommend that if you have an exposure to the eyes that you remove and dispose of your contact lenses, then use the MyClyns as directed.

We have toxicity test results that show that the solution in MyClyns does not cause irritation to the eyes and is therefore safe to use in the eyes. Since our launch in January 2008 we have had no report that MyClyns has damaged contact lenses.

6. Is the spray safe to use on small/young children?

10. Is this made in the USA?

11. Is this approved by the FDA?

MyClyns contains a 510(k) medical device solution cleared by the FDA as a wound cleanser (under 21 CFR §880.5090). MyClyns contains a fast-acting solution with immediate germ-killing action, including the killing of MRSA and many other germs on contact. It is safe to use on mucous membranes. This is the only first response protection you can spray directly onto your face and into your eyes, ears, mouth, and nose and open wounds.
